I warmly welcome you to the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Government College University Hyderabad.

Our faculty at the GCUH has been the beacon of scholarly care and societal commitment. We are devoted to creating an environment that is conducive to curiosity and learning for both students and teachers. This faculty believes in and promotes independent scholarship, intellectual inquisitiveness, and collective responsibility. Our students, research scholars, and faculty members understand the critical role that they have to play for the scholarly contributions to their fields and socioeconomic growth of their region.

The Faculty of Natural Sciences consists of five departments. These departments offer several cutting-edge programs that meet the contemporary demands. For instance, the Department of Zoology offers BS and MPhil in Zoology and BS Microbiology. The Department of Botany offers BS in Botany and BS in Biotechnology. The Department of Chemistry hosts BS and MPhil in Chemistry and BS in Biochemistry. The Department of Mathematics has BS, MPhil, and PhD in Mathematics. Finally, the Department of Physics offers a BS in Physics. All these academic units adhere to the latest educational policies mandated by both the Higher Education Commissions of Sindh as well as Pakistan by offering original courses and high-tech skills.

What makes these departments and their programs unique among the region is their professional obligation in their teaching and research for creativity, curiosity, care, and commitment. Therefore, the mission of this faculty is to bolster the scientific mindset that produces the humane professionals and researchers that Pakistan in general and Sindh in particular needs for their healthy socioeconomic growth-the one that helps in not only achieving the SDGs but also making nation proud in innovations and discoveries.

The Faculty of Natural Sciences at GCUH looks forward to becoming a preeminent seat of humane knowledge in the country and beyond for both academics and research. Because our destination is same, we look forward to working together for the sustainable future that Science promises.
