ABOUT UNIVERSITY

The Government College University Hyderabad (GCUH) is a public sector university located in Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan. The college was established in 1917 & on its 100th anniversary in 2017, Government of Sindh announced to upgrade it into a full fledged university. Government College University Hyderabad is the first ever public sector university in the city.

The University offering BS-4 year programs in the ten disciplines, Botany, Chemistry, Computer science, Education, English, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology, BBA and Information Technology.

GC University Hyderabad has one of the oldest and richest library with more than 25000 books and every year new books are added in various fields of natural and social sciences.

The University has large and ventilated class rooms, Smart Classroom, Computer Labs, Smart Board in each department, PERN Internet 150 MB, well equipped laboratories and highly qualified teaching faculty.

Apart from academia the campus has lush green cricket ground, Tennis, badminton and futsal courts, gymnasium, canteen and number of grassy lawns.

Within short span of time Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) and Office of the Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) has been developed to improve the quality of teaching/research by developing innovative skills and creative approach among students.

It is also proudly mentioned that our faculty members have recently got a research project from Sindh HEC Titled Green Nanotechnology: A safe approach for Environmental remediation.

GC University Hyderabad is also looking forward to develop faculty with latest trends as they can enrich students with modern methods. Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Zarif, first regular Vice Chancellor of GC University Hyderabad taking effective initiatives to develop this historical institution into a University Which can compete the modern challenges of academia and research world.
